President William Ruto has challenged members of his Cabinet to put in the work to help the Kenya Kwanza alliance deliver on his campaign and manifesto pledges to Kenyans.

The President spoke on Friday in the second day of the ongoing retreat for his Cabinet and other senior officials being held at the Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club in Nyeri County.

Dr Ruto challenged all his Cabinet Secretaries to put their best foot forward to make the government more efficient in offering services by ridding it of bureaucratic red tapes.

The Inaugural Retreat for Cabinet and Senior Ranks of the Executive started on Thursday and is expected to consolidate the government’s plan to turn around the economy.

The Ruto administration hope to spur the economy by focusing on agriculture, value addition and manufacturing and called on his cabinet ministers to unite in this endeavor.

“When we work together, we will protect the interests of the people, deliver on our pledges and move the country to prosperity,” Ruto said.  


This comes days after President Ruto pledged to digitize all the 5,000 services offered by the government in the next six months to ensure efficiency in delivering services to Kenyans.  

The cabinet retreat chaired by the Head of State also discussed the implementation of the Kenya Kwanza development projects that the government’s is giving priority this year.


The retreat in Nyeri County has brought together senior members of The Executive arm, who include Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Presidential Advisors.

The cabinet retreat at the posh Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club, which is owned by billionaire Humphrey Kariuki, comes only two months after Ruto banned state officials from holding meetings and conferences in five-star hotels as part of government austerity measures.
