Machakos Senator Boniface Mutinda Kabaka was on Friday rushed to Nairobi Hospital after he developed complications while in the company of a woman at an apartment in Kilimani estate.

A police report said the woman, who is not his spouse, was on Friday being questioned by the police investigating what transpired between Mutinda and the woman going by the name Esther Muli in the apartment.

The second senator of Machakos reportedly complained of a headache and asked for painkillers but the woman later called in managers of the apartment who rushed him to Nairobi Hospital.

Kabaka's wife Jenniffer Mueni filed a report at Kilimani police station at 3am after she received a call from Issac Muinde who works at the senator's office alerting her of his predicament at the Elgeyo Marakwet road address.

Mueni then went to Nairobi hospital accompanied by other family members including her co-wife Vascoline Katanu.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) investigators have taken over the investigation and have already combed the scene and carried away all materials relevant to the probe.

The officers established that Senator Kabaka had checked into the Kilimani apartment on Thursday afternoon accompanied by Esther Muli who hails from Wote town in Makueni county.
