The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) has deployed excavators along Mombasa road and Uhuru Highway to open up the drainage and dredging in the affected sections caused by the heavy rains.
The agency also confirmed that flooded areas will be barricaded to enhance safety to the road users.
At the same time, KenHA has apologized for any inconveniences caused to road users as the operations go on to stabilize the situation.
''The flooded areas are also being barricaded to enhance safety. KeNHA regrets any inconveniences caused'', read the statement.
The agency noted that the most affected areas were around Nyayo stadium and Bunyala road and advised motorists to avoid the section and use alternative routes.
