Jubilee Party has suspended three Nairobi MCAs for three months over what it termed as indiscipline and disloyalty. 

Jubilee’s Disciplinary Committee made the decision following a hearing on Friday that lasted more than five hours at the party headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi. 

The three nominated MCAs who have been suspended are Ann Thumbi, Silvia Museiya and Millicent Jagero.

The Ward Representatives similarly been de-whipped from the various assembly committees they had been serving in for the period of the suspension. 

The Jubilee Party Disciplinary Committee chaired by Lumatete Muchai issued the decision in a statement only hours after indicating that it would communicate the disciplinary action after seven days.

The party found the three ‘rebel’ MCAs guilty of undermining the Jubilee leadership, its position on Nairobi County’s budget estimates for the 2020/2021 financial year as well as violating Jubilee’s code of conduct.

Before the Friday disciplinary hearing the MCAs had accused the party of targeting them unfairly blaming their fate on their closeness to the Deputy President William Ruto, who has been rebelling against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This also comes as Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is facing a fresh impeachment motion after he refused to sign the county budget to deny funding to the Nairobi Metropolitan Service headed by Major General Mohammed Bado.
