Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives arrested a 27-year-old woman suspected of drug trafficking in a hotel room at Hamza Makadara along Jogoo Road.

They arrested the woman of Ugandan nationality who responds to the name Bizu Rubi Halima on Tuesday evening with pellets of heroin.

A thorough search discovered up to 189 pellets of drugs.

The drugs were discovered carefully hidden in potato crisps and could have easily passed as Pringles.

Detectives believe she was waiting for her Kenyan contact at the hotel to come and collect the consignment.

The Transnational and organised crime detectives acted on a tipoff that reported Halima’s suspicious activities through the toll-free ‘fichua kea DCI’ hotline.

She was arrested, placed in police custody and was processed for arraignment in court. The sleuths are still pursuing her accomplices.
