The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is 2 million voters shy of realizing its target voter listing for the second week since the voter registration started.
IEBC had targeted to register 3 million new voters by the end of the second week. It has only made 491,000 registrations in total.
The top five counties that have registered the highest numbers of voter registration include Nairobi, Nakuru, Bungoma, Kilifi and Kakamega.
In the capital city, IEBC targeted 366,254 but only registered 43,137. The total percentage of registered voters in that period is 12 per cent.
IEBC has registered 19,694 new voters against their target that was 152,692, setting the percentage of registered voters in that period at 13 per cent.

17,089 new voters were registered Bungoma County against the targeted 90,964.
In Kilifi County, IEBC targeted 83,091 while only 16,439 new voters have been registered.
In Kakamega County, IEBC has only managed to register 16,952 new voters from the targeted 121,338.
The mass voter registration exercise is still ongoing and will end on November 2, 2021
IEBC rolled out mass voter registration about a fortnight ago and was targeting between six to seven million new voters.
