A mammoth crowd welcomed ODM leader Raila Odinga to in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County on Friday. 

Raila is currently on a tour of the Rift Valley region that has been perceived as the political base of Deputy President William Ruto.

The former Prime Minister started his tour with deliberate meetings with leaders drawn from the North and South Rift counties.

Hosted by the current Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos and other senior leaders, the 2022 presidential candidate wooed residents and other leaders of the region to vote for him as they did in the 2007 general election.

At the same time, Raila will try to redeem himself from the accusations that he neglected the region after he entered the grand coalition government with his then opponent Mwai Kibaki.
