President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday responded to questions by the international media on links to the recently leaked Pandora Papers detailing his family’s alleged off shore accounts.
President Kenyatta reiterated his earlier position that there were no illegalities linked to his family in the details leaked by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
In his short response, the Head of State, who was speaking at the United Nations Security Council, added that his name was also never mentioned in the leaked Pandora Papers.
He assured the international community that he would address the matter comprehensively when he returns to Kenya at the conclusion of his one-week tour of the Americas.
“As I said before, my name, first and foremost, is not there. And, secondly, here has been no mention of any illegality or wrongdoing on my part. And as I said before I left Kenya, to come and attend this meeting, I shall be addressing that issue comprehensively once I arrive back home,” Uhuru said during the session with the media.
