The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) now says ‘chipo mwitu’ girl or otherwise known as Bevalyne Kwamboka is operating an illegal business.
This came after a member of the public asked KURA through their official Twitter account if the activates that Kwamboka engages in are legal.
@KURAroads are these activities legal? https://t.co/4gmx3dpo2V

The authority also said footbridges and walkways are not meant for any form of business rather for pedestrian passage.
“This is illegal and an infringement to Pedestrian rights, The Footbridges and walkways are meant for Pedestrian passage and not any form of business,” KURA replied.
KURA’s response elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter who shared their sentiments about the matter.
Here are some of the comments and sentiments Kenyans shared;
Pedestrian wanapita chini ya footbridge... @NBOExpresswayKE Sooo making Mombasa Road express way pedestrian friendly ndo manadraw the line... Mnapanda maua instead of paving it for walkways and cycling.. But huyu dame ndo mnatoa makucha Shidwee

Maybe illegal but very legitimate. We can always coexist with Kenyans who are trying to eke a living even if they have to setup shop by the roadside. She pays taxes so use those taxes to find us a solution on how we can coexist.
