The Magical Kenya Travel Expo 2021, which was postponed in 2020 officially kicked off on Tuesday.

Cabinet Secretary Tourism and Wildlife Najib Balala stated that the ongoing vaccination in the country still enhances the level of confidence in safe travels among visitors.

The CS made those remarks during the official opening of this year’s Magical Kenya Travel Expo.

The event has attracted travel trade from over forty countries across the world, including eleven African countries and is the highest tourism fair in the region.

The participators include operators, travel agents and DMCs from Kenya key tourism source markets in Europe, Africa, Asia and Americans.

Balala has called on the industry players to implement the learning of the pandemics, market their product and experience offering to visitors.

“As take a step ahead, we must take into consideration the fact that we now have a changed traveller, a traveller who is more health-conscious and make decisions with this consideration,” said Balala.

At the same time, Balala disclosed that the ministry will soon develop post–COVID-19 pandemic mitigation strategies to ease the recovery of the tourism sector that has received a heavy hit from the pandemic.

“To keep pace with the fast-changing needs of visitors and challenges faced by the tourism industry, the industry has to act swiftly and adjust its strategies for tourism development from time to time,” added the CS.

During the Expo one-on-one meeting will be held virtually for both pre-scheduled meetings and speed networking sessions to reach the key individuals.

Participants can also get involved by providing panel discussions and watch exciting videos of various destinations.
