Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested 44 school children and their host during a raid on a house in Moutain View estate in Nairobi county.

During the raid carried out on Saturday night, the DCI officers impounded various brands of alcohol and bhang in the house from the 26 boys and 18 girls between the ages of 14 and 17.  

DCI said the children are in primary and high schools and were apprehended alongside their host, Millicent Kithinji aged 41, who was picked up for grilling by detectives based at Dagoretti.


DCI said preliminary investigations showed the 44 children hail from Nairobi, Kiambu and Machakos counties and were found with various brands of Whisky and vodka rolls of weed.

Some of their parents have been contacted and a probe launched to establish how the children sneaked out of their homes and travelled that far without raising suspicion from their parents.

Police are also seeking answers on why the woman hosted the minors and how they got to her house as they asked parents to watch what their children do at home and on social media.
