The six police officers implicated in the death of the Kianjokoma brothers have been charged with their murder.
Lilian Cherono, James Mwaniki, Nicholas Cheruiyot, Consolata Kariuki and Martin Wanyama were each charged with two counts of murder.
They appeared before Justice Daniel Ogembo and pleaded not guilty.
Through their lawyers, the police officers applied to have the bodies of the brothers exhumed for a fresh autopsy and an inquest conducted before raking plea.
The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) however opposed the application.

They said exhuming the bodies of the brothers would cause anguish to the family that is still grieving the loss of their kin.
The prosecution asked the court to have the male officers remanded at Industrial Area and the female officers be remanded at Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
Lawyer Danstan Omari requested the court to grant the accused bail.
The hearing of the bail application will be conducted on September 22, 2021.
