Ex Likoni MP Salim Khalif Mwavumo dies

The former Member of Parliament for Likoni constituency Salim Khalif Mwavumo is dead.

He died on Monday Morning.

His death was confirmed by Mombasa businessman, Suleiman, Shahbal. 

"I have, with deep sorrow received news of the death of Mzee Salim Mwavumo, leader of Likoni Elders and former Likoni MP. He was like a father to me; he served with my uncle as a councilor in the defunct Municipal Council of Msa in the early 1960s. I valued his wise counsel," wrote Shahbal.

Mwavumo was elected Likoni MP in 1992 on a Ford-Kenya ticket and served for one term before Suleiman Shakombo took over in 1997 on the Shirikisho Party.
