One person has been shot dead in Kahawa West following demonstrations by residents and traders in that area after their stalls erected by the roadside were demolished.
Sources say the demolition exercise on the Nothern Bybass started at night and some residents woke up to a rude shock when they found the stalls demolished.

Traffic in the area was disrupted for the better part of Wednesday morning as the demonstrators barricaded the road and lit bonfires to protest the night demolitions.
Traders counted huge losses after the demolitions meant to remove kiosks that have encroached the Northern Bypass amid claims that
traders were not notified of the move.

Motorists were warned to approach the area with a lot of caution, as some criminals were also taking advantage of the situation to rob passersby of their belongings.
