The body of top 2012 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE) candidate Edgar Tony was discovered by the roadside in Homa Bay County on Wednesday.
Edgar was found dead and his body mutilated with deep wounds on the head and body.
His stepbrother Odongo Oduol confirmed his death.
Tony emerged the overall best candidate in 2012 KCSE with a mean grade of A and 89.86 points from Maseno School.
His performance saw him secure a full scholarship with Yale University in the US, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

He came back to the country in late 2020 after completing his degree course.
The exact cause of his death is yet to be established, as the injuries he sustained could be related to either an accident or an attack by assailants.
Edgar’s body was transferred to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital.
His death has shocked many Kenyans who knew him and some shared their sad feelings across social media platforms.
