President Uhuru Kenyatta has demanded an investigation into the death of the Kianjokoma brothers who died under mysterious circumstances.
This comes after the Inspector-General of police Hilary Mutyambai had ordered a probe into the death of the young men.
Benson Njiru 23 and his brother Emmanuel Mutura 19 died on August 1, 2021, while in police custody.
Reports indicate that police from Manyatta Police Station arrested the brothers at Kathangari Village in Embu County for flouting COVID-19 rules.

Last Thursday, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) promised to give a preliminary report on their investigation in a week.
However, they are yet to issue any report by Thursday EOB.
The Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and Attorney-General led government officials in a meeting with the deceased's family and they promised them to get to the bottom of the matter swiftly.
Matiang’i condoled with the bereft and assured them that action will be taken against any officer found culpable.
The autopsy report revealed that their bodies had multiple injuries and blunt force trauma and they succumbed to the injuries.
According to the autopsy report, Mutura’s head was deformed and bruises manifested on his face while his brother had broken ribs.
Residents of Kianjokoma staged protests and engaged police in running battles, and one person was also shot dead while protesting over the death of the siblings.
All the police officers involved in the brothers' arrest are under investigation and are considered suspects.
Two senior officers Emily Ngaruiya (OCPD) and Abdullahi Yaya(OCS) have since been transferred from Manyatta Police Station to Eastern regional police headquarter following the death of the brothers.
