Former South African president Jacob Zuma has handed himself over to the police in the late hours of July 8, 2021.
Zuma begins a 15-month jail term for contempt of court after failing to present himself to the authorities with time specifies.
The court gave Zuma a total of 5 days to present himself to the police before his warrant of arrest was issued.
The constitutional court of South Africa found him guilty of contempt of court following his failure to appear before an inquiry investigating malpractices linked to him during his time in office.
Zuma has made into the books of history as a former president who has had his warrant of arrest issued by the same government he served and gotten jailed.
