A candidate seeking to work with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEBC) has withdrawn his candidature following the denial of his degree by a local university.
Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) denied ever awarding the degree in Abdalla Mohamed’s possession and declared it a forgery.
The degree was allegedly awarded to Abdalla on July 28, 2007.
He withdrew from the interviews after he was informed that Methodist University has denounced his degree.
The matter was brought to Abdalla’s attention after the selection panel received a letter bearing the date July 1, 2021 from Kenya Methodist University that informed the panel on the validity of the degree.
