Haiti President Jovenell Moïse has been assassinated at his home in the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince, in a vicious attack that has left the whole world in shock.
The interim Prime Minister of Haiti Claude Joseph has confirmed the incident that happened at 05:00 GMT.
The PM said that unknown individuals stormed the presidents home and killed the president.
Haitian First Lady Martine Moïse was also injured in the attack that claimed the life of her husband.
The President who was aged 53 at the time of his gruesome death had been in office since February 2017 when his predecessor, Michel Martelly stepped down from office.

Moïse’s tenure in office has been marred with corruption allegations that led to violent anti-government protests by people who demanded his resignation.
However, he insisted on finishing his term that only had a year to go.
Claude has assured Haitians that all measures are being taken to ensure the continuation of the affairs of the state.
Meanwhile, he called for the public to remain calm
