Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has vowed he will not support ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga for president in next year’s General Election.

In an interview with NTV Kennedy Murithi, Kalonzo said endorsing Raila for the third consecutive time would make him “the most stupid person on earth”.

The former Vice President was Raila’s co-principal in the National Super Alliance (NASA) which unsuccessfully tried to wrestle power from Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 election.

“It is unthinkable that one Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka would support Raila Odinga for the third time. I'd rather go back to Tseikuru. I would be the most stupid fellow on earth to go and support — the third time — a presidential candidate without a measure of reciprocity,” Kalonzo said.

He added, “It would be a miracle.”

He accused Raila’s ODM party of betraying his NASA colleagues including himself, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya after the last general election.

“The ball is in the court of ODM because they are the ones who killed it (NASA) during the by-election in Kibra when their own Secretary General announced that NASA is dead,” he said.

He went on, “The rest of us said it is not dead and it is still there on paper. It would take a miracle to rebuild that confidence.”

He insisted that any talks with the former Prime Minister will be channeled through his One Kenya Alliance also consisting of Mudavadi, Wetang’ula and KANU’s Gideon Moi.

“At the age of 60 something right now if I don’t run, when do you expect I will run?” he posed.

Kalonzo was Raila’s running mate in the 2013 and 2017 General Elections, both of which they lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Raila last week, during former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile’s funeral said he was willing to work with and hold talks with Kalonzo over the 2022 presidential election.

Kalonzo denied reports in the media that Uhuru said he would endorse a NASA candidate for president in 2022 during a meeting with Ukambani leaders at State House Nairobi.

The report irked DP Ruto, who on Tuesday attacked the Head of State on Twitter without mentioning his name over his intended endorsement of a successor outside Jubilee Party.
