Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has issued a notice to residents of some parts of Nairobi on interruption of water supply.

The announcement was made on June 16, 2021, that interruption to the water supply may begin on June 17, 2021, at 6:00 am till June 18, 2021, at 06:00 am.

The interruption is meant to allow interconnection of new and old pipelines on Uhuru Highway between Museum Hill Road and KBC areas as the construction of the Expressway is continuing.

The areas affected will include the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) and South B, South C, areas along Mombasa Road, the University of Nairobi main campus and the Coca-Cola factory.

Also mentioned in the notice were areas within Eastlands; along the Jogoo Road, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu, City Stadium and estates adjacent to the ones mentioned. 

The other areas which will be affected by the interruption include the whole Industrial Area, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Athi River.

The residents in the affected areas are asked to reserve enough water to last throughout the interruption period and conserve whatever they have now.
