Northlands City, which is owned by the family of immediate former President Uhuru Kenyatta and is located in Kamakis, Ruiru, Kiambu County has been set ablaze.

The expansive land was set on fire on Monday evening by unknown persons with a video capturing a huge fire razing sections of the property facing the Eastern Bypass in Kamakis.

It remains unclear who set the property in which the Kenyatta family is building a dream mixed-use city only hours after hundreds of goons breached the land and stole sheep.

Northlands City development, which measures about 11,800 acres, is located approximately 25km from the Nairobi County City Centre and hosts Brookside Dairy and Peponi School.

The sprawling investment by the Kenyatta family was breached and set ablaze on the same day Raila Odinga was leading his Azimio coalition in anti-government demonstrations.

It also comes a week after UDA leaders led by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa and Moses Kuria accused Uhuru of sponsoring Azimio demos and warned him of retaliatory attacks on his family lands across the country.
