Kenya has now written to the UK government demanding justice for the vicious assault of a Kenyan national by police officers in Colchester, Essex.
In a statement released on Monday, the Kenya High Commission in the UK headed by Manoah Esipisu demanded action against the cops for “use of unnecessary force on the unarmed man.”

“The Kenya High Commission in the United Kingdom has received a disturbing video that has been making rounds on social media where police officers in Colchester, Essex are seen to assault a Kenyan national, Mr Wycliff Cox,” read the statement in part.
The assault came to light after an undated video went viral on social media last week sparking outrage coming in the face of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
In the four-minute clip, six cops are captured assaulting the Kenyan identified as Wycliff Cox as they tried to arrest him over reported violation of bail terms.
The officers are seen pinning Cox’s head to the ground and holding his neck as members of his family watch in horror and his mother begging them: “Don’t kill my son.”
The officers then carry away Wycliff, said to be mentally ill, into a waiting vehicle while his face is bleeding while his hands and legs are tied.
“The High Commission has been in constant communication with the family and assured them of the Government’s support as they seek justice,” the statement continued.
“The Government of Kenya is keen that the case that was reported to the UK authorities in late September 2020 be thoroughly investigated so that justice is seen to be done, and also that all involved be held to account for their actions according to UK police conduct and regulations.”
“The health, welfare and safety of Kenyans living in the United Kingdom remain a priority for the Mission and the Government of the Republic of Kenya.”
