Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has lost his son to complications related to Covid-19.

Ngunjiri’s family confirmed that their 32-year-old son Kinyanjui Ngunjiri passed away while being treated at a hospital in Mombasa County.

This comes less than a month after Deputy President William Ruto, who was flanked by his allies from the Tangatanga wing of Jubilee Party visited Kinyanjui in hospital to wish him a quick recovery.

The son of the lawmaker, who is a staunch supporter of DP Ruto, is reported to have been on life support for the last three months.

Kinyanjui, once a safari rally fanatic who took part in international rallies, was a businessman with an interest in the construction industry and was based in the coastal region.

He has left behind a wife and two children.

Ngunjiri has in March last year sensationally alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee administration had orchestrated the country’s first case of Coronavirus for political reasons.

He made the claims after Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that then 27-year old student Ivy Brenda Rotich from Ongata Rongai had tested positive for Covid-19 after travelling from the US.
