There was panic temporarily after an airplane carrying Agriculture CS Peter Munya was forced to make an emergency landing at the Suguta village in Kitutu Masaba, Nyamira County on Friday.
Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba has blamed the emergency landing on bad weather caused by ongoing rains in the area.
The CS however confirmed that CS Munya was safe and no one was injured in the incident.
He was caught in the situation after touring Ekerenyo grounds and Nyamaiya in Nyamira County to meet coffee farmers to discuss proposed regulations to protect farmers from exploitation.
He was flanked by Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni, County Commissioner Amos Mariba and Commodities Fund Chair Mwancha Okioma who all pledged to address issues ailing the sector.
