The owner of the building that collapsed in Ruaka, Kiambu County last week has been arrested while attempting to flee from the country.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) pounced on 59-year-old Jennifer Kamau moments before boarding a flight which was destined for Texas, in the US.
However, DCI says Jennifer fell sick after sleuths pounced on her and they rushed her to a hospital in Nairobi, where she was being attended to before being arraigned in court.
She was being sought after a six-storey building she owns collapsed landing on an adjacent building in Ruaka, Kiambu County killing two people on Thursday at 3am as tenants slept.
This comes as another six-storey building collapsed in Ruiru, Kiambu County on Monday morning hours after more than 100 tenants were evacuated amid an increase in such cases.
