Langata MP-elect Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o claims there are fervent efforts by President-elect William Ruto to have him ditch Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition and join him in his Kenya Kwanza alliance.

Jalang’o made the revelations in an interview with a local TV station where he disclosed that he had recently been receiving phone calls from members of the Kenya Kwanza alliance.

Apart from receiving money offers to decamp from the Azimio coalition to Kenya Kwanza, he claims he also got many invites to Ruto’s Karen residence for talks surrounding such a move.

However, the comedian said he had declined the tempting offers based on what he says are his belief in his Azimio presidential candidate and ODM party boss Raila Odinga.

According to Jalang’o, it is important to stand for one’s beliefs and the party that sponsors one to office and anyone who knows what they stand for should steer clear of Kenya Kwanza.

“We have been called severally. What is important is that you should stand for your beliefs and the party that sponsored you to parliament,” Jalang’o said.

He added, “If you know what you stand for, then you cannot join Kenya Kwanza. We are ready to serve in the opposition even if the supreme court does not rule in favour of Raila.”

Jalang’o was speaking against the backdrop of Ruto’s offensive on Azimio after some members of the coalition led by UDM leader Ali Roba and recently, former Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana decamped to Ruto's side.
