Drama and chaos have rocked the Bomas of Kenya as four Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners dissent with the commission's chair, Wafula Chebukati on presidential results.

The four commissioners, namely Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'aya led by the Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera issued a statement at the Nairobi Serena Hotel decrying the last phase of the presidential election results.

According to the four commissioners, they said they cannot take ownership of the results that are going to be announced because of the opacity of how part of the process was handled.

 "We have done the election in the most efficient matter, but some things need to be put out there. We are here because of the opaque nature of how this space has been handled. We therefore, cannot take ownership of the results that are going to be announced," Cherera said.

Cherera appealed to Kenyans to be calm and seek legal redress as there is an open avenue.

"We have an open door where people can go to court. We urge Kenyans to be peaceful because the rule of law is going to prevail," she added.

She said they would make a comprehensive statement later on.
