Supreme Court judge Njoki Ndung’u on Friday evening lost her official vehicle registration number KCN 117M to armed robbers who ambushed her driver in Githurai, Nairobi.

The car Justice Ndung’u’s driver Stephen Thuku was driving is reported to have been blocked by three thugs at Mwihoko before they got in and drove it away taking the driver with them.

According to police, the abductors drove around Nairobi with the driver before abandoning him at Kibiku near Ngong Town unharmed but made away with Sh110,000 he had in cash.

Police have called on the general public who has information regarding the incident and the stolen vehicle belonging to the Judiciary to avail such information to the nearest police station.

Justice Njoki Ndung'u was reportedly not in her official vehicle during the incident and police are investigating the incident to also establish the motive behind the theft.

Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s driver was in 2017 shot and injured a day before the Supreme Court heard a case that sought to have the repeat presidential election cancelled.
