President Uhuru Kenyatta has convened the second Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition council meeting.

The meeting has been scheduled for Friday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

According to a notice to the Azimio council members sent out on Thursday, the meeting will review the coalition’s campaign strategy and also formulate plans to ensure the Azimio coalition’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga wins the August election.

“Take notice that a meeting of the Coalition Council, to be chaired by the Party Leader (Mr Odinga), will be held on the 24 June, 2022, at KICC starting at 10.00 am,” the notice read in part.

Uhuru said the meeting will also review, formulate and approve the coalition’s policies, apart from discussing strategies that will ensure Azimio gets most of the 47 county assembly seats and parliamentary seats.

The Azimio coalition has plans to use the opinion polls to determine and pick out candidates who are perceived as weak in a strategy that will help ensure the coalition wins the majority of seats in the August election.

Uhuru chaired the first Azimio coalition council meeting on April 21, 2022.
