The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said Kenya Kwanza Alliance flag bearer William Ruto is gearing towards rejecting the presidential election results in the August general elections.


Raila said his Kenya Kwanza opponents have already sensed defeat, hence the letter that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) letter to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) seeking prosecution of a principal secretary and five cabinet secretaries.

UDA wrote a letter to the IEBC and the DPP seeking prosecution of Karanja Kibicho, Fred Matiang’i, Joe Mucheru, Eugene Wamalwa, Keriako Tobiko and James Macharia for involvement in politics.

Raila, through his lawyer Paul Mwangi has asked the IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati and the DPP Noordin Haji to dismiss UDA’s demands saying the Supreme Court addressed the questions raised by Ruto in 2017.


"The legal position being advanced by UDA is therefore duplicitous...it is intended to establish grounds for UDA's legal challenge at the Supreme Court of the imminent Raila Odinga victory in the Presidential election of August 9, 2022," the court document read.

He termed Ruto’s claims as grounds for rejecting the results of the presidential elections in August.
