Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua asked his boss William Ruto to set aside 50 per cent of this government for Mt. Kenya in case they win the August election.

Rigathi was speaking in Embu during the Embu Economic Forum on Friday where he appealed to the residents of Mt. Kenya region to vote for Ruto in return for a sizeable portion of the government.

"I am proposing an application for a 50 per cent share of Ruto's government," Gachagua said.

He added that if the region wanted to get a big share of the government; they have to come out and vote in large numbers during the August election.

"But applying for government shares is one thing and getting the share is another. For us to get a big share, we must vote in large numbers," he added.

"Our ownership of this coming government will be determined by the number of votes we cast in favour of Ruto. Therefore, make sure we turn out in large numbers and vote for Ruto.”

He challenged Mt. Kenya region to work hard towards achieving their goal, which is voting in large numbers to raise their share of the government just as Musalia Mudavadia and Moses Wetangula are doing in Western to bag the 30 per cent share they bargained for.
