The leaders drawn from the five counties of namely Kakamega County, Bungoma County, Busia County, Trans Nzoia County and Vihiga County thanked Uhuru for initiating various development projects in their area.

They said the projects have transformed the lives and wellbeing of Western Kenya residents.

Notable leaders who attended the meeting included CS Defence Eugene Wamalwa and governors Wycliffe Oparanya, Wycliffe Wangamati, Wilberforce Ottichillo, and Sospeter Ojaamong.

The leaders were grateful to the president for the timely degazettement of Chetambe Hills as a national forest reserve.

Over 10,000 individuals living in Maraka and Mihuu Wards in Webuye East Constituency, Bungoma county faced displacement following the July 2021 gazettement.

The area is a heavily settled land of about 406 acres.
