Former Member of Parliament for Mukurweini Constituency Kabando wa Kabando has declared his interest in the Nyeri senatorial seat in the August general elections.

Kabando took to his social media accounts to share his message with his followers.

In his tweet, Kabando said upon wide consultations, encouragement from people, surveys and his spirit to serve, he was offering himself for the position.

“Upon wide consultations, urgings, online & grassroots surveys and my spirit to so serve, I offer myself to be Senator of the Great County of NYERI,” Kabando tweeted.

He said he would communicate details of his quest for the seat in three weeks and promised a decent issues campaign.

“#KKCampaign will communicate details of this noble venture in 3 weeks. I pledge Clean Decent Issues Campaign. #Kabando4NyeriSenator,” he wrote.

However, he did not disclose which political party’s ticked he will be vying for the seat with.

Kabando has served as the Mururweini MP for two terms from 2007 to 2017.

He was also appointed Assistant Minister of Youth affairs from 2007 to 2013.
