Controversial Member of Parliament for Gatundu South Moses Kuria is scheduled to undergo stem transplant surgery in the United Arab Emirates.

Kuria will be among the pioneers in the world to undergo the procedure which is expected to catalyse his healing process.

The stem procedure induces skin regeneration, reduces fibrosis and improves scarring.

The legislator sustained serious leg injuries in September following a malfunction of a Sh250,000 worth electric mat he had purchased through a friend from Total Caragem Africa Limited.

Kuria suffered third-degree burns from the mat that he bought to cure numbness in his feet.

The company from which he bought the mat deals with alternative care medicine.

He was first treated in Nairobi’s Karen Hospital after the accident before being flown to Dubai for further medical attention.

Kuria shared the news of his surgery from his hospital bed in Dubai.

“I am scheduled for stem cell surgery this week. This is a rare surgery and I will be among the pioneers to undergo it in the world,” Kuria said.

He insisted that the company must take responsibility for his injuries and has already contacted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in relation to the matter.

Kuria also confirmed that a criminal and civil process is happening because he believes that the issue is of much importance to Kenyans.

He reiterated that his taking action against the company is meant to prevent another Kenyan from suffering the same fate he did in the hands of the company.

The legislator has undergone a total of seven surgeries in a span of only two months
