Safaricom will start conducting a maintenance exercise on its mobile money product M-Pesa starting Tuesday, October 19, 2021, to Wednesday morning.

The giant communication firm says that the maintenance of M-Pesa systems will start from 11:59 PM and is scheduled to end at 4 AM, Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

“We are constantly investing and innovating M-PESA to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our customers as well as continue to support our partners in their business ambitions,” read their statement.

M-Pesa has grown to be more than a mobile money product for sending and receiving cash.

It has powerful business tools that are used widely by local and international businesses.

M-Pesa sits as the top revenue generator for Telco since when it started its operations first back in 2017.

In Kenya, the market share of M-Pesa in the mobile money space is at over 100 per cent.

It has over 30 million local active users and number is even higher at 50 million in the markets that use M-PESA in Africa.
