Former  IEBC Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba has officially assumed office at the Communications Authority of Kenya as its Director-General.

In a statement, the Authority board chairman Kembi Gitura said the appointment resulted from a competitive recruitment circuit following the retirement of the former Director-General Francis Wangusi.

Chiloba has received the Instrument of power from her predecessor Mercy Wanjau who formerly has been sitting in an acting capacity.

“Mr Ezra Chiloba has today formally received the instruments of office as the CA Director-General from his predecessor, the outgoing acting Director-General Mrs Mercy Wanjau, as he settles down for the task ahead,” reads the statement from CA.

Previously before his appointment, Chiloba was suspended by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati following the procurement queries at the electoral commission, which he later challenged in court.

The authority’s Board of Directors appointed him DG in a memo dated September 28, a position he will hold for the next four years.
