Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a raft of measures it is taking to reduce the crazy traffic gridlock witnessed on Mombasa road in the past week or so due to ongoing construction of the Sh59 billion Nairobi Expressway.

KeNHA says, in a statement shared on its social media pages on Tuesday at 1:46am, that it was determined to reduce the traffic snarl ups to the "bare minimum" coming as motorists and commuters have been lamenting over the many hours spent on Mombasa Road.

the authority revealed that a multi-agency team had been established to help better control the traffic flow on the busy road as well as provide proper signage and proper channels in case of any accident or emergency situation.

Here's the full KeNHA statement:

This comes after hundreds of motorists and passengers destined for Syokimau, Athi River, Kitengela and other destinations spent Thursday night on the road due to traffic snarl-ups caused by interruptions to traffic flow caused by the expressway construction.
