Two more victims of the Malanga fuel tank explosion have succumbed to their injuries raising the death toll from the tragedy to 17.

According to Siaya County Health Chief Executive (CEC) Dismas Wakala, the two victims suffered over 50 per cent burns. Their dies at the Siaya County Referral Hospital Where they were receiving treatment.

13 other people died instantly at the scene of the tragedy and since that day 4 more people have succumbed with the latest cases being the two.

The government pathologists have managed to get blood and bone marrow samples from all the 13 bodies of the victims who died on the spot.

They have also collected samples from around 15 relatives of the deceased.

A fuel tanker explosion caused the death at Malanga, in Gem Subcounty caused the death of the 17 victims so far and scores were also injured.
