The ill-fated aircraft departed from Wilson Airport in Nairobi and was en route to Lodwar before the accident.

Witness accounts say that the place came down and burst into flames on impact, killing the pilot instantly.

The two other passengers on board sustained serious injuries and were rescued before being rushed to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.

The ill-fated plane is said to be one of the aircraft used to spray locusts and other pests.

Poor visibility because of bad weather in the area could have caused the plane to crash.
