Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko found himself on the receiving end of ridicule after sharing photos online disclosing that he attended a baby shower.

Baby showers are basically parties that are thrown to celebrate the impending birth of a new baby. It’s also a way for friends and family to help the new parents get everything they need.

Traditionally it is attended by women who chip in financially or with items the baby and mother needs. Initially, it was meant for first-time mothers.

But on Sunday, Mike Sonko left everyone in disbelief after he shared on his social media pages that he attended Vero and Ezekiel’s baby shower.

In photos shared by the flamboyant politician, the dress code for the day was all white accessorized by beautiful hats.

Vero’s husband, Ezekiel, stepped into the event donning a black outfit from head to toe.

The former governor ensured he took photos for the day just for future reference.

Sonko took to social media congratulating the couple and wishing them well as they keep making more life steps. Sonko further joked saying July has most baby showers.

“Why in the month of July we normally have baby showers mob. Congratulations! Vero and Ezekiel so many happy and wonder-filled times ahead for you,” he wrote.
