Velma Chepkoech, a nurse at Londiani Sub-County Hospital in Kericho County, has been recognized and appreciated by the county government of Kericho for her exemplary work.

Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony led his county in appreciating the nurse for her kind and outstanding work.

Her recognition came following a viral picture of her carrying a patient’s baby strapped on her back as she attended her to patients.

Reports indicate that the baby’s mother was brought to that hospital by well wishers in a bad condition, therefore rendering her unable to care for her child.

Her selfless act warmed the hearts of Kenyans who made the picture viral and attracted the attention of the county officials.

Kenyans have showered Velma with praise and appreciation for her gesture and urging all the other nurses in the country to learn from her.

From swalanyeti.co.ke, we wish the mother a quick recovery and Asante sana Velma. You are a role model and God bless you.
