The number of fatalities from the Covid-19 pandemic has risen to 839 after seven more people succumbed to the virus in Kenya in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

 

The ministry, in its daily updates on Monday, announced that 195 more people tested positive for Coronavirus, from a sample size of 1,852 tested in the same period.

 

The new infections of the novel virus increased to 45,076 the total number of confirmed positive cases in the country as the cumulative Covid-19 tests rose to a high of 623,828.

 

176 of the new virus patients are Kenyans and 19 are foreigners, while 137 are male and 58 female, with the youngest new patient being a five-month old baby and the oldest is aged 75.

 

227 people recovered from Covid-19 in 24 hours, 146 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 81 were discharged from various hospitals across the country raising recoveries to 32,084.

 

According to MoH, total cases in ICU were 39 while 39 others were on supplemental oxygen.

 

The total number of people admitted in various health facilities are 1,084 while the total number of people on Home-Based Isolation Care are 2,480.
