Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has put on notice vandals who brought down a signboard for a road named after him in Kileleshwa.

Atwoli warned that CCTV cameras had been installed in the area adjacent to Dik Dik Gardens in the plush Nairobi estate to ward off those intent on vandalizing the road sign.

The workers umbrella body boss warned that the law would take its course on those involved in the “vandalism and impunity” believed to have happened on Saturday night.

The road formerly known as Dik Dik Road was renamed to Francis Atwoli Road on Friday during a colorful ceremony presided over by acting Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu.

The signboard was brought down mysteriously after a section of Kenyans online led by city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi opposed the renaming of the road after the COTU boss.
