Nairobi Women’s Hospital has announced the immediate closure of its Rongai branch, effective Thursday, citing unavoidable external business and operational factors.
The move, explained in a letter by Dr Sam Thenya, the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, arrives at a challenging time for the country, leaving many patients and employees uncertain about their future care and job security.
“This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the impact it may have on all our valued stakeholders,” Thenya stated in the letter, highlighting the hospital’s awareness of the closure’s repercussions on both patients and staff, many of whom must now seek alternative solutions in an already strained healthcare system.
While the Rongai branch closes, Nairobi Women’s Hospital affirmed that its other eight branches remain fully functional and ready to continue serving the community.
“We deeply appreciate your understanding during this transition, and we want to assure you that our commitment to providing high-quality and affordable healthcare services across our other eight (8) branches remains unwavering,” Thenya added, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to accessible healthcare amidst the changes.
