Equity Group Foundation (EGF), through its health pillar, has commissioned seven new fully-equipped Equity Afia medical centres in a bid to respond to rising demand for quality healthcare services across Kenya.

The new health centers are an addition to 102 medical centers already opened across Kenya by Equity Afia, which plans to roll out 1,000 centers across East and Central Africa by 2030.

The move to establish the fully equipped and ultra-modern health facilities is part of Equity Group Foundation’s health pillar with the facilities run by qualified and highly skilled staff.

The staff comprise of medical officers, nurses, clinical officers, pharmaceutical and laboratory technologists who are backed by state-of-the-art lab and diagnostic equipment.

The newest centers are located in Migori town, Nyamira town, Busia town, Bomet town, Mpeketoni town, Iten town and Kwale town and offer curative and preventive services.

Founded in 2015, the Equity Afia franchise aims to improve access to quality and affordable health services in urban and rural areas to bridge the inequality gap in healthcare provision.

The facilities offer outpatient services including consultation, laboratory, ultrasound, X- Ray, pharmacy, Dental, Optical, Mother & Childcare and chronic disease management programs.

Some of the clinics under the Equity Afia franchise including Ruiru, Bamburi, Athi River, Kitengela, Ruaka, Kenol, Nakuru Section 58 and Kikuyu operate 24 hours.

They seek to improve access to treatment, timely consultation and preventative and promotive approach focused on nutrition and lifestyle management with timely treatment when needed.

Aligned to the Government’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) vision, the Equity Afia Medical Centers have a online and social media support system for patients available 24/7.
