Kenya has recorded the highest new infections this year after 1,064 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, out of 6,151 samples tested.

According to the Ministry of Heath, the total confirmed positive cases cumulatively in the country now stand at 115,031.

During the same period, 7 patients succumbed to Coronavirus pushing the total fatalities in the country overnight to 1,925.

The ministry headed by Mutahi Kagwe also announced on Wednesday that cumulative tests conducted since the first positive case was reported in the country now stands at 1,379,990.

Of the new virus patients, 964 are Kenyans while 100 are foreigners.

MOH says 185 more patients have recovered from Covid-19; 149 recovering from Home Based and Isolation Care, 36 from various health facilities, raising total recoveries to 88,781.
