Broadcasting Legend and former CNN talk show host Larry King has contracted Covid-19. 

This is according to a source close to the family as reported by a host of media networks in the US, including CNN. 

According to reports, 87-year-old King has been hospitalized with Coronavirus at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for more than seven days now. 

CNN reports that due to protocols, King's three sons had been unable to visit him at the hospital. 

King suffers from Type 2 diabetes and has battled a number of medical issues in the past, including several heart attacks and quintuple bypass surgery in 1987.

The legendary host recently revealed he was diagnosed with lung cancer and had successfully underwent surgery to treat it as well as another procedure in 2019 to tackle angina. 

King’s health battles inspired him to initiate the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, a non-profit seeking to help those in America without health insurance and cannot afford medical care. 

Larry King hosted Larry King Live on CNN for 25 years and interviewed presidential candidates, celebrities, athletes, movie stars among others before retiring in 2010 after more than 6,000 episodes. 

However, in 2012, he started hosting Larry King Now three times a week on Ora TV, an on-demand digital network he co-founded with Mexican telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim. 

King lost his son, 65-year-old Andy King, of a heart attack in July as well as his 52-year-old daughter Chaia King in August shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
