The M-PESA Foundation Academy recently marked a significant milestone as it celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of learners who successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

This specialized program, introduced in 2020, focuses on nurturing students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being in preparation for higher education and future endeavours.

Forty learners from the academy have completed the IBDP and will now transition to the Uongozi Centre, where they will engage in programs designed to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge required for tertiary education.

From June to December this year, the Uongozi Centre will provide career guidance, assistance with applications to technical institutions and universities, and ongoing support as they embark on their next phase of learning.

Expressing her delight, the Acting Executive Head of School at the M-PESA Foundation Academy Mary Nyale addressed the significance of the day as the first cohort graduated from the(IBDP.

Nyale highlighted the academy's commitment to developing future leaders and emphasized its objective of equipping students with the necessary skills to make a difference in society.

"This is a special day for M-PESA Foundation Academy as we witness the first cohort graduating from the IBDP,” Nyale said.

“As a leadership academy, our aim is to empower our students with the necessary leadership skills to become catalysts for change in society, and that is why we embraced this curriculum."

Established in 2016, the M-PESA Foundation Academy has admitted a total of 946 students from all over the country. In February of this year, an additional 96 students joined the institution.

The academy has been providing sponsorships to 133 students since 2019, enabling them to pursue higher education in renowned universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
