Walt Disney Company Africa has announced that Team Sayari is set to air on Disney Channel from December 12 at 17:05 (EAT) with one episode airing each day from Monday to Friday.

The project is a collaboration between Walt Disney Company Africa, National Geographic, US Department of State, US Agency for International Development (USAID) and WildlifeDirect.

This follows public demand for the show following the successful launch and first run of Team Sayari, an entertaining and educative program, on the National Geographic Wild.

This children’s documentary series is produced by Kenyan production firm, White Rhino Films, to celebrate, encourage and inspire the next generation of environmental champions.

The docuseries aims to instill knowledge and encourage actions especially by the younger generation to conserve the world’s biodiversity but in a fun way.

The series is hosted by Mysha Hodson (13), Marita Lucas (12), Shanah Manjeru (14), Railey Mwai (10) and Adarsh Nagda (12) aided by young field reporters from across Eastern, Southern, and Western Africa.

On November 5, Marita, Railey and Adarsh joined WildlifeDirect CEO Dr Paula Kahumbu and Chief of Party Trish Sewe for a trip to the Wildlife Warriors Kids Field Lab in Kajiado as part of the series’ outreach program.

During the visit, two episodes of Team Sayari were screened to a group of 115 youths, who were delighted to view the programme with some of the show’s hosts in their midst.

The screening was followed by tree-planting and nature walk down River Mbagathi, which is serving as the boundary between the Field Lab and the infamous Nairobi National Park.
